Ms. Solomatina became a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music in 2003, where she had been a student of Peter Serkin and subsequently Eleanor Sokoloff. In continuation of her educational studies, Anastasia commenced her graduate fellowship at the Kazan State Conservatory of Music, Russia, in the class of Prof. Elfiya Burnasheva, and received her Master of Music degree in 2005. She then enrolled in doctoral studies at the Kazan State Conservatory, remaining in the studio of Prof. Elfiya Burnasheva, until the completion of the program in November 2008. During her last academic year in Russia Ms. Solomatina maintained a piano faculty position at the Kazan State University of Culture and the Arts, which she relinquished in May 2008 in order to continue her professional activity in the United States. Before leaving Russia, Ms. Solomatina was the recipient of the National Talented Youth Award, but the decree of President Putin. In September 2009 she joined the studio of Prof. Awadagin Pratt in pursuit of a DMA degree in piano performance at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. In 2012, Ms. Solomatina has put her DMA degree on hiatus to spend time closer to her family on the West Coast. Anastasia now resides in Seattle, and enjoys teaching students in a private studio. In addition to piano teaching and performing, she holds the position of the faculty pianist at the Seattle Conservatory of Music, where she also lectures in music academics.

Anastasia has made appearances with N. Novgorod Academy Orchestra, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Chamber Orchestra, Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, Cascade Symphony Orchestra, Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra, Bremerton Symphony, Junior Symphony Orchestra of Seattle, Halifax Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra della Magna Grecia, Orchestra Seattle, Young Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, La Primavera Chamber Orchestra, and Kazan Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.

Ms. Solomatina has given numerous recitals throughout Russia, USA, and Europe. Some of her Northwest appearances include the 150th Steinway Anniversary Concert Series, the Chopin Foundation of the United States Presentation Recitals, Northwest Artists Piano Series, and King FM 98.1 Live performances. Her current professional activity is centered on performing solo and chamber music, research in music academics, and piano pedagogy.

Anastasia’s competition activity began with the First Prize at the Second Tchaikovsky Moscow Regional Competition, Russia (1992). Since then, Anastasia received numerous awards, including Second Prize at the 22nd Senigallia International Piano Competition, Italy (1993), Grand Prize at the New Names International Festival, Germany-Russia (1994), and First Prize at the Stravinsky Awards International Piano Competition (1995), USA. She became the First Prize winner at various piano competitions, such as Washington State MTNA-Baldwin Jr. High School Piano Competition (1995), The Eastside Chapter Washington State Music Teachers Association (1996, 2000), The Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside (1996), Washington State Helen Crowe Snelling Memorial Awards Competition (1996), and Ludmila Knezkova-Hussey International Piano Competition, Canada (1998). She was the recipient of the Seattle Young Artists Festival’s Gold Medal (1996, 2000) and The R. Joseph Scott Concerto Study Grant (1995). She received First Prize winner at the Gubaidulina International Piano Competition, Russia (2006), Third Prize winner at VIII Concorso Internazionale di esecuzione pianista “Citta di Trani”, Italy (2006) and Fourth Prize winner at The 50th World International Piano competition of Cincinnati, USA (2006); she was a semifinalist at the 2nd Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition, USA (2005), XII Concours Internacional d’Escaldes-Engordany, Andorra (2006), and USASU International Piano Competition, USA (2006).
