Berlioz’s\nsix songs for mezzo soprano, \u003ci\u003eLes nuits\nd’ete\u003c\/i\u003e (\u003ci\u003eSummer Nights\u003c\/i\u003e), radiate\ntenderness, sensuality, and like Tchaikovsky, gives voice to inspired melodies.\nAaron Copland’s\u003ci\u003e Outdoor Overture\u003c\/i\u003e\nopens the program with spirited brass playing an invigorating rhythm.
