Barbara Deering
Barbara Deering
Barbara began her acting career at age nine in a Chicago Area production of “Flower Drum Song.” It was just a non-speaking role playing a girl scout... but the thrill was as if she had been leading lady. Participating in local Theater in the Windy City through Middle School and High School, she was accepted into the Acting School at Illinois Wesleyan University where she studied under Harold Guskin, an acting guru for many of today’s most popular Artists. After performing for 25 years in the South Eastern United States, Barbara came to Bainbridge and has been working in the Seattle Area on the Stage, Film and Commercial scene for the last 20 years. Here at BPA you may have caught her as Alma Rose in “Playing for Time,” Miss Hannigan in our 1998 production of “Annie,” Ma Joad in “The Grapes of Wrath,” Mama in “Chicago,” or Jeanette in “The Full Monty.” Barbara also teaches private Acting, Voice, Piano and other instruments in her Bainbridge Studio. She is excited about this season’s classes at BPA and can’t wait to meet you!
