What’s wrong with nine-year-old Jesse? He can’t sit still, he curses, he raps, and you can’t get him into - or out of - his pajamas. His teacher thinks it’s ADD. His dad says he’s just a boy. Mama’s on a quest for answers. Lisa Loomer’s witty and thoughtful comic drama (or dramatic comedy) asks all of us, “Are we so tuned into our 24/7 info-rich world that we’ve tuned out what really matters?”

POST-SHOW DISCUSSIONS March 10, 17 & 24

BPA is pleased to offer a community forum to discuss the issues raised by the play following the March 10, 17, and 24 Sunday matinees, when the cast of “Distracted” will be joined by a panel of experts including Sally Kidder Davis, a Bainbridge Island parenting coach; Jan-Marino (Nino) Ramirez, PhD, Professor of Neurological Surgery and Director of the Center for Integrative Brain Research at the Seattle Children’s Research Institute, and Judy Rutberg-Self, a local neuropsychologist. In addition, Dr. Theodore D. Mandelkorn, a nationally known expert on ADHD, will be present at the March 17 discussion. Space permitting, the post-show discussions are free and open to the public in addition to the matinee audiences.
